Jennifer Dysart

Filmmaker and Archival Researcher

Jennifer Dysart (Cree/settler) is an archive-enthusiast, independent filmmaker and archive researcher currently based in Hamilton, Ontario. Her creative work disrupts the colonial power of archives through community-research and a desire to return archived audio-visual media to the Indigenous people and homelands where they were recorded. In 2019 she was Artist-In-Residence at Library and Archives Canada and supported by the SSHRC-funded Archive/Counter-Archive group. She has an MFA in film production from York University and an undergraduate degree from UBC.
