Dagmar Skopalik

Journalist, Consultant

After a training program for TV-journalists with Germany’s national public service broadcaster ZDF, Dagmar started her career with ZDF as journalist, editor and presenter. She was appointed as the first equal opportunity officer of ZDF. In this function she was also member of the European Commission’s Steering Committee for Equal Opportunities in Broadcasting and the European Equal Opportunities Network.


From 2000 to 2022 Dagmar was head of international relations of ZDF, which is (among others) responsible for maintaining relationships with broadcasters and international institutions worldwide. In this function Dagmar was also active in the European Broadcasting Union EBU in various capacities and served as liaison officer for the Asian-Pacific Broadcasting ABU.


Today, Dagmar is freelancing as consultant and journalist.


During her career she has gathered a broad expertise in the field of international broadcasting, international relations and gender mainstreaming and policies.


Dagmar holds a major degree in History and German Philology (M.A. Magistra Artium) from the Georg-August-University Göttingen.
