One week to go! Logistics to know before PBI 2024

With the PBI conference just one week away, here is a list of things to know to help you prepare for the conference.

Agenda: What’s not to miss?

To make the most out of your time, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the agenda for this year’s conference. We’re not going to lie - it’s a packed event. We have ensured to plan breaks, and we will keep you hydrated with refreshments and snacks throughout the days.

There are also some excellent networking and mingling opportunities planned to enable you to connect with colleagues.

What should I pack?

For international guests, welcome to Canada, where talking about the weather is one of our favourite pastimes! The weather in Ottawa at this time of the year is normally chilly with a gentle breeze. Temperatures usually range from 4 to 14°C / 40 to 57°F, with chances of rain. Rain or fall coats are recommended, as the evenings can get rather chilly. When in doubt, we suggest layering. No need to bring your parka, the snow typically holds off until November.

The downtown core is a walking friendly space, so comfortable footwear is recommended.

For guests who will be attending the reception at the French Embassy, we recommend business wear for this year's edition. There will be transportation options available, so stay tuned for those details.

Discover Ottawa

Ottawa is situated on the south bank of the Ottawa River across from Gatineau, Quebec, at the confluence of the Ottawa (Outaouais), Gatineau, and Rideau rivers. It is also home to the Rideau Canal, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Ottawa offers a variety of activities and attractions! Here are some helpful recommendations. If experiencing local food is something of interest, here are a few options to tempt your palate.

Getting around Ottawa

The downtown core is a walkable city. Taxis, ride-sharing services and public transportation are also available in the area. Please allow for heavy morning and evening traffic.

Please carry official photo identification with you at all times, since you’ll need it for registration each day of the conference.
